The two stories are happening simultaneously, half a world apart.
Yet, as the Pontiff and a few children released doves, symbols of peace from a Vatican window, as a sign of hope for Ukraine, two scavenger birds swooped down to spoil the moment.
As we all watched in horror, then delight, the weaker birds escaped.
I for one couldn’t help but think of the Little Sisters of the Poor and two more scavengers of death, Obama and Sebelius, trying to destroy their dream of holiness.
Jesus was very clear when He said in John 16:33:
In me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
Remember too what Christ promised to St. Peter in Matthew 16:18:
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
Keep praying for the weak good people.
Better yet, keep believing that our mighty God cannot allow Truth to die, no matter how strong the army of the Enemy.
