Empty K-Cups and Subway Wrappers

June 30, 2013

One of the surest signs of summer around our house, since our first grandchild was born, are those empty Keurig cups and sandwich wrappers from our local sub shop…(Angelina’s if I’m buying)

My wife, the gourmet cook/grade school teacher, makes a bee-line to Ohio right after classes let out,  to be a super-grandma who prays and plays with her little treasure…(soon to be plural)

Without Natalie around, I don’t make pots of coffee or cook meals much, and my kids, especially our younger son, allows the spirit of hunger to lead him to Subway on South Street.

The half empty soda cup and wrapper rarely make it into the trash, yet the food is never to be found…(I know where that went)

In many ways, when we’re not in the presence of God, with our every thought, we can be very easily lead astray, to places where our mind accepts partial replacements for that which we know is more edifying.

When we neglect God and Bible reading, prayer is often replaced by playing around in our heads.

We rationalize that our folly is only temporary, yet we know, every unhealthy morsel of sin we digest, packs on pounds, and other unwanted nitrates to our souls.

God challenges us to stay the course when we seem alone.

We’re far too often like the Apostle Peter, who walked on water only for a few seconds.

Taking his eyes off Christ, who was in front of him, was still a choice God allowed.

What we permit of ourselves, those are the real ingredients going into our hearts, and the difference between eating cold cuts, or a savory meal.

Black Genocide

June 29, 2013

In case you’re wondering where Conservatives get our so-called “disdain” for women’s rights, the following video might be a place to start.

Blame it also on our love for Church, Christ and The Truth, a.k.a. The 10 Commandments.

Remember this one ladies–“Thou Shalt Not Kill?”

That includes your babies.

Carol Swain…you’re a great American.

Here’s one more point of view…Carol Swain is not alone.

Choosing a Spouse–Like the NFL Draft

June 28, 2013

I remember the 2010 NFL Draft, and thinking …”Why the heck did Belichick take two tight ends in a row?”

As the news reports started to pop, it was all good…first about Rob Gronkowski, then Aaron Hernandez.

Nothing conspicuous was said about the latter being “gangsterific”.

Once I saw him though, with his “tatts” from Hell, it was easy to see the kid had identity issues.

In our humanity, we’re often attracted to those who have talent, but are clearly on the wrong track.

The Patriots choosing Aaron Hernandez is no different from a Christian choosing a good-looking spouse, with no faith…thinking that being around you will cure them of their brokenness.

The external pleasures of a “hottie” on your arm doesn’t last long..then reality sets in…and skin deep beauty can quickly turn…well…murderous.

Think before you commit.

It’s your family name that’s on the line…not to mention your life.

Patience and prayer are far better than risky possibilities.

Same-Sex Education

June 27, 2013

For those entering politics, thinking they can work with both sides of the marriage issue, seeking a happy medium, guess again.

When it comes to compromise, the Left’s Lobby never does.

From day one, when same-sex marriage became legal in Massachusetts, back in 2003, because activist Judges forced the Commonwealth to begin issuing marriage licenses, my position has been; this has much less to do with marriage than it does education.

What the heck are you ranting about Massery?

First of all, marriage always has been, and always will be, an institution created by God, for the sole purpose of creating a family, united by blood.

No matter how loud same-sex couples cry, they cannot form a family in the traditional sense, where two become one flesh through their offspring.

This is my opinion, not that of the next Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, who you can destroy because of what I say.

I believe the end-game is same-sex education.

Your children, my grandchildren, and everyone else’s, are what they crave most.

For most of us, the idea that our kids will learn the birds and the bees from educators at school, before they learn it from mom and dad, is a bit intimidating.

Many of us parents want to teach it at home first, then have it reinforced at school.

Imagine then, after explaining how things work, our public schools introduce a same-sex wrinkle, ordered by these same activist Judges, which little Johnny and Susie can’t wrap their head around.

And what’s it’s purpose?

Sex for sex sake.

There’s no basis for it in nature–and–kids are smart enough, they study biology, to see it as a glitch limiting the growth of the human species.

Oh…I forgot…the Left loves to talk about the word “love.”

So ethereal of them.

Sorry folks, when one takes into account that real “love” means telling the truth–I say–back off Lefty Lobby, and keep your hands of our children and grandchildren.

And if you “love” the idea of eternal life in God’s house, away from the flames of Hell, where Satan dwells, then I suggest you find God and beg forgiveness.

Oh…and if you think messing with the faith of children is no big deal…guess again.

These are Christ’s words, not mine.

Matthew 18:6

If anyone causes one of these little ones–those who believe in me–to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

One last thing, for you pretend atheists, laughing in the face of God…good luck with that.

When Politician’s Kids Cry

June 26, 2013

Last night voters in Massachusetts chose a Democrat to represent them in the U.S. Senate.

The margin of victory for Ed Markey over Gabriel Gomez was roughly 55 to 45%.

I found it encouraging that the New England Cable News Channel seemed more interested in the Gomez concession speech than Markey’s acceptance version.

No one likes a sore loser and they may have been there “live” to record a flub if it happened.

Gabriel was gracious in his loss and his sobbing kids were…well…just sobbing.

Though I had gone out to congratulate the winner, and did not see them cry, my wife told me when I lost an election back in ’02, after having won twice before, my three kids were crying.

It’s touching really, not just because your children feel sad, but because as a parent you realize they understand you stood for something.

Because the conservative lost, should I quit trying to reach 55% of my neighbors, so they’ll better receive traditional Christian principles?

Here’s my answer from Matthew 7.

Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit,
and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit,
nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down
and thrown into the fire.
So by their fruits you will know them.”

Obama Furloughs Himself to African Vacation

June 25, 2013

In case you were wondering if only Republicans were attacking Obama for his lavish vacations–guess again.

Georgia Congressman John Barrow, Democrat, just cost himself a future invite to the Rose Garden, with his daring downer on Capitol Hill–making Barack look greedy.

It’s one thing when enemies snipe at Barry, but quite another when his family talks trash.

There’ll be hell to pay I say (or would that be Valerie Jarrett I hear?) for a Democrat to embarrass the master.

Is reality starting to settle in, that this so-called leader is in it for himself?

Do folks actually know how much money $100 million dollars is?

That’s A-Rod like k’ching brethren–and then you find out he’s all juiced up to boot.

Don’t you and I have to save for years, to go on that once-in-a-lifetime vaca, with all the nicest perks omitted, even settling for a rental car that looks like a 1973 Datsun, just so we can afford the round-trip flight back home?

What real purpose, other than to have laughs on our dime, does this excursion provide for America?

Go ahead folks, keep voting for the phonies and you’ll keep on getting what you asked for–empty suits.

Thanks for telling it like it is John…you may be the lone Democrat who does.

Changing the Names to Hurt the Innocent

June 24, 2013

It used to be the opposite, that names were changed to protect the innocent.

Now the Left changes descriptions to hurt the innocent.

Here are a few examples I saw over the weekend.

First, the Sunday morning news shows, two I saw anyways, are calling Snowden “the leaker.”

Since when is a whistle-blower a leaker?

Next, Candidate for U.S. Senate Gabriel Gomez is now “anti-choice.”

They can’t even say the words “Pro-Life” for fear that someone may like that idea.

God has written His name on our hearts.

That’s all that matters folks.

Keep on doing what you need to do and disregard the immature who fear Truth.

Their days are numbered.

Following Christ the Rock Star

June 23, 2013

For those not sure what Christians are talking about when we get all spiritual and God consumed etc…think about this.

How excited are you when there’s a great rock concert by your favorite artist?

Don’t you try and go with buddies who love the music as much as you?

Is there not great anticipation?

Tickets are expensive, travel to and from the venue lengthy, but once there, everybody’s in sync with other fanatics and the high cost long forgotten.

In today’s Gospel (Luke 9) Jesus spells out what one must do to attend His concert–eternal life

If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself
and take up his cross daily and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

So, if you thought those concert tickets were pricey, check out the demands of this rock star Jesus.

He wants us to pay daily, with self-denial.

We may not have been to heaven yet, but considering the price we’re willing to pay for the ticket, now you know why we get so excited.

Just so you know, upon request, God downloads a band member into our hearts, called the Holy Spirit, to help with the heavy lifting.

He’s radical!

Never Fear Science

June 22, 2013

One of the most common arguments anti-Christians use is that God-fearing people have no scientific basis for their beliefs.

That’s interesting.

Because it takes more faith to believe our world came about by accident than by intelligent design.

Here’s another good one they like to dish.

Don’t impose your religious beliefs on my body.

Women who crave abortion rights especially rely on that one.

Again…it takes complete denial of science to say life does not begin at conception.

Here’s the bottom line.

God doesn’t give a darn about the arguments of atheists or unbelievers.

He wants us to love them, more than we love ourselves.

Just like He did.

Why…because their arguments are nothing but veils, protecting pet sins from exposure to light.

Never argue with an atheist/scientist…just ask them what sin they’re guarding from God.

A good friend of mine shared this Nano Tech Chemist’s video with me below.

Watch it when you have a chance.

A brave Christian saved his life speaking about sin.

You have that same power…to save the lost through preaching Truth.

It’s not very scientific…it’s foolish…just like Christ asked us to be.

The Anti-Mamma Bear

June 21, 2013

Last night my wife and I attended a downtown event.

There was a good crowd.

Trying to be funny, I razzed an old friend and his wife about voting for (R) Gabriel Gomez in next week’s U.S. Senate race, to replace John Kerry.

I knew they were Democrats, but I teased anyway.

The wife, whom I had never met, said…”I can’t vote for him because I’m a woman.”

“What does that mean?”…I said.

“I need my right to choose”…she said.

“I get it.”… I replied–as my heart sank.

Twenty minutes later I was back home, choked with emotion, thinking about the millions of bullied defenseless babies.

I asked my wife…”Why do some women, when you ask who they’re voting for, say ‘their number one issue is preserving the right to kill their own babies?'”

My wife wisely replied…”They don’t know God.”

Thanks Natalie…I get it.

Some women, like mine, are Mamma Bears, and would do anything to protect their babies.

Other women, not like mine, would do anything for themselves, to include killing their babies.

The lady was right about one thing…it’s definitely a choice.

I’m pretty sure she never had an abortion…those we know who did, have confided they live a  life of guilt and regret.

They’re rarely the ones selling “choice”…with hearts too broken.

God–help those who don’t get it…they vote not what they do.
