Christians Should Hope the Mayans Are Right

After the resurrection, Jesus spent a bit of time with the Apostles, clearing up all they had misunderstood during His earthly ministry.

It reminds me just a tiny bit of the time I first saw the movie The Sixth Sense, with cop friends in the Chicago area.

I had no clue what the ending meant.

Not until we got into the parking lot, Frank–a detective–said, “the guy, Bruce Willis, was dead during the whole movie.”

Ohhhhhhhh…I get it know.

As a people who believe the New Testament, the Mayan prophecy of the end of time is nothing to fear.

When Jesus finally parts ways with His Apostles, as described in Acts 1, here’s what happens.

Acts 1:9-11

After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.  They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky?  This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Is there a Christian alive who does not wish He could have walked with Jesus during His post resurrection period on earth?

God never plays favorites with believers.

Every one of us will do the same.

Embrace your Lord in such a way that His return is the climax of your story.

If you do, no matter what happens, nothing will go over your head, even the end of world and your days with Jesus…one on one.
