Fast-Food with a Higher Calling

Last week I was on the road again.

I had the privilege of spending time with my grandson Dominic, a fairly healthy eater at 10 months.

As you’ll see in the photo below, he’s also a lady-killer.

The fast-food establishment we chose to visit made me realize God has a plan for us, even when things seem to be going wrong.

When we remain faithful to Him, our trials are there not to bring us lower, but to prepare us to fly higher.

A perfect example is the controversy surrounding the Chick-Fil-A restaurant chain.

I’d never been inside one before.

Until a week ago, all I knew was that they were founded by a Christian and closed on Sundays.

After finally patronizing one myself, it hit me that the now famous girl in the drive-up window was just any one of thousands of well-trained people they employ, who would’ve handled themselves the same way, when verbally abused by that left-wing bully.

Everything about my experience there was a cut above other fast-food places.

The people behind the counters were happy and greeted us with a very friendly “hello.”

Whenever they took money or handed food over they said, “we’re very happy to serve you.”

While at the table, workers cleared away trash and offered courtesy refills of our beverages.

Best of all, as we were leaving, I noticed a sign in the drive-up lane for busy moms to take advantage of a service that takes some of the stress out of their day.

So much for all the negative publicity making life hard for Chick-Fil-A…the place was packed and the drive through had non-stop visitors.

Thank you Lord, for blessing those who want to honor You in all they do.
