Hang ‘Em High

August 31, 2012

One of my all time favorite movies is Hang ‘Em High, starring Clint Eastwood.

In many ways, like Marshal Jed Cooper, an innocent America has been unfairly lynched by the policies of a left-wing agenda that’s so far gone, their only accomplishment over the past four years is tax-payer funded entertainment for the likes of Sandra Fluke.

Speaking of entertainment, I hope you had the chance to see Mr. Eastwood last night at the Republican National Convention.

If not, I’ve provided the video below.

It’s a must see for all conservatives…Democrats will hate it.

After you watch, I hope you’re as motivated as I was when I texted my friend Andy the following two words–“It’s over.”

Now, I’m not saying we don’t have a fight on our hands…but…as long as we’ve got Clint Eastwood, I like our chances.

By the way…all the Hollywood liberals combined don’t add up to one former Mayor of Carmel.

Watch how far they run from this gun battle.

Thanks again Mr. Eastwood…America owes you a debt of gratitude for knocking that empty suit off his bar stool.

You made our day.

The Only Open Door

August 30, 2012

Occasionally I get a bit drowsy from eating the wrong foods.

Last night was a bad time to experience such a bout.

I slept through Paul Ryan’s speech.

Here’s the good news–I just read the transcript online.

This may have been one of the best vice presidential acceptance speeches ever made.

About 10 minutes before I drifted off, one of the Fox commentators made a comment I won’t forget.

He said, the only door that seems to be open for young college graduates is the one to their parents’ house.

As I read Paul’s speech, I could not help but feel excited that a man this young could think so clearly about truth and freedom.

Yesterday I also had a Facebook friend request answered by a young person who is a leader of the Tea Party Youth.

Talk about an encouraging day.

Our future is lost without clear thinking young Americans.

Chances are you heard Paul Ryan’s speech last night.

If not–here’s the transcript.

It’s a Stairway to an Obama-free Heaven…read it and you’ll get the pun.

Hate Mail From the Left

August 29, 2012

Every now and again I write a letter to the editor.

Recently one that I penned, (if you’re a regular reader you saw it) was virtually the same blog I wrote about candidate Elizabeth Warren a week ago, who’s challenging incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown.

I touched a nerve with someone who knows quite a bit about me.

Here are the verbatim remarks from the unsigned letter;

Mr. Massery,

Do you call your wife Natalie a “squaw” or maybe even a “Polack”??

You are a shameless shell of a human being.

How dare you purport you are Christian–You are nothing short of vile.

An outraged Berkshire County female voter

President Obama–4 more years!

You Republicans are Scary.

I want you to know, dear lady, whoever you are, I love you and I’m praying for you.

God knows life is difficult enough for all of us under President Obama.

For you and many others, hearing truth for the first time is part of the reason for your shocking reaction.

Just like King Herod–who–for the first time was publicly accused of adultery by one brave enough to speak out–it caused him to murder.

The mainstream media is doing all it can to keep Americans from knowing the truth about the end-game of the left-wing agenda.

When that happens and truth finally does get through, like a levee that reaches its maximum capacity, it can burst open and cause destruction.

People, especially seniors, are watching in horror, as Obama raids the coffers of Medicare and Social Security to buy votes from others who want free gifts from the government and retirement in their 20’s and 30’s, on entitlement programs they never paid in to.

It’s happening all around us.

Like John the Baptist, having my head chopped off for telling the truth, is what we prophets (albeit a minuscule one) must do.

Pot Smoking Lowers IQ–Or Does it Reveal It?

August 28, 2012

There’s a new study out that claims teenagers who started smoking pot have an IQ 8 points lower than those who never smoked.

I’ve read the data and the article.

I’m a bit perplexed.

Is it not possible that those who started smoking pot at say, age 16 and quit a year later, when they were 17, may have had an IQ high enough to know that what they were doing was unhealthy?

Is it also not possible that those who start at around age 14 or 15, who never really stopped, are a bit  dumber to begin with?

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to measure the heaviness in ones’ chest, or to see the yellowing of teeth and fingernails, or the wrinkling of young skin into leathery old flesh.

I think I’d like to become a scientist.

The first thing I’d research is if eating hummoos makes you want to write a conservative blog.

I’ll bet I can prove that at least once.

Just so you know folks, like Bill Clinton…I tried it once…but I didn’t exhale.

That’s right…from age 16 to 17 I was impersonating Humphrey Bogart at the Pittsfield State Forest almost every night, finally realizing, with God’s help, that it was the dumbest thing I could possibly do, especially as I was approaching the real formative years called “going to college.”

Please don’t tell any Democrats you read this…they’ll hold it against me if I ever run for President.

Obama’s drug use was way cooler than mine.

Keeping Broadband Use Tax Free

August 27, 2012

Although we’re not quite there, one could almost say that the Internet is comparable to the air we breath.

What I mean is, we do very little these days without the use of broadband services.

Almost every evening my wife and I talk to our grandson in Ohio using Skype.

Since my youngest son and I are both I-Pod Touch owners, we do FaceTime for free from my living room into his dormitory.

It’s really quite fun to communicate outside the wire.

The wire I’m talking about is the FCC.

In case you’re wondering, the Republican Platform includes a commitment to oppose taxing the Internet.

When you get your broadband bill have you noticed there are no little tiny numbers like $1.24 or $2.76 added to the bottom of the statement?

The FCC, under President Obama, has just declared that their number one goal is to make broadband accessible to the 19 million Americans who don’t have it.

If you’re an experienced conservative like me, you know that language is liberal code.

It means, let’s tax everyone else to help those poor pathetic people living in Wyoming and Montana, who chose to be far from civilization, so that we can take control of more of the private sector’s money.

The excuse is no different from the one Obama used to provide Health Care for those without it.

Sympathy is the liberal’s best friend.

Gullible voters are his second best friend.

If you want to have your Internet use taxed then I suggest you vote for Obama.

He’d love to get a piece of the action every time you Skype or FaceTime your family.

Democrats New Campaign Theme–Death

August 26, 2012

With $5 trillion in new debt under President Obama; 500,000 less Americans working than when he took office; a government that has to borrow $3 billion dollars every day just to function; scandals galore–like Solyndra with its crony capitalism and Fast and Furious selling guns to the Mexican Cartels; you’d think that Republicans would have an easy time putting Democrats on the defensive.

Then, along comes Todd Akin, the aspiring Republican Senator from Missouri, and the Democrats have fallen in love with him (not one (D) has asked him to leave the race.)

Because now they can change the subject about their failed economic policies and intellectually dishonest shafting we call Obamacare.

Here’s the bottom line about those supposed “Tea Party Neanderthals” that Maureen Dowd so smugly decries.

People of faith, who love God and also happen to be repulsed by the very thought of killing a baby, would rather be destroyed themselves, than to see an abortion doctor dismember a baby in the birth canal, so that it can be called a legal abortion.

Yes folks, the Republican platform believes that life begins at conception–it’s not religion either–its science.

Find me a biologist who can prove life does not begin at conception and I’ll donate money to Planned Parenthood myself.

The Democrat platform believes that any abortion, even where the entire baby is delivered, except for the head, which is then crushed by a loving care-giver, is a good abortion.

You want to bring up weaknesses Democrats?

Two can play at that game.

USA Today–Obama’s Fake Twitter Followers

August 25, 2012

As I read this article in USA Today  (link below), I could not help but think of how the more we learn about President Obama, the more we realize his character flaws are similar to those of King Saul from the Old Testament.

As young David started to grow in popularity amongst the children of Israel, Saul could not stand the idea that his own fame was diminishing.

Here’s an excerpt from 1 Samuel 18:

After David had killed Goliath, the men of Israel returned home. The women came out of all of the towns of Israel to meet King Saul. They danced and sang joyful songs. They played lutes and tambourines. As they danced, they sang,

“Saul has killed thousands of men.
David has killed tens of thousands.”

That song made Saul very angry. It really upset him. He said to himself, “They are saying David has killed tens of thousands of men. But they are saying I’ve killed only thousands. The only thing left for him to get is the kingdom itself.” From that time on, Saul became very jealous of David. So he watched him closely.

Obviously there was no such thing as Twitter in ancient times, but, as we fast forward to the modern era, we learn that President Obama and his team are not content to have around 5 million followers on Twitter.

Of the 19 million that have signed up to absorb his every nuance, so we thought, an organization called Status People has determined that 70% of those followers are fake and have been bought and paid for.

Here’s the link to the USA Today Column explaining how it works.

King Saul would’ve loved faux-Twitter followers…that way he could’ve bought his popularity over David’s and kept his gigantic ego intact.

Sound familiar?

N.Y. Times Slams Obama Recovery

August 24, 2012

Every now and again liberal newspapers accidentally tell the truth.

The reason they can’t cover over every mistake that the President has made is because there are too many.

The link is below.

Here’s the bottom line.

Income levels are dropping since the so-called “recovery” of 2009 began.

There is one bit of good news though…the income level of people above 65 is going up…because they can’t afford to stay home.

Too bad Mr. President, you seem to be the only person better off today than you were 4 years ago–at least until November 6th.

GDP vs. National Debt–Nice

August 23, 2012

A lot of talk these days is about the staggering national debt of the U.S. government.

Another very important number is that of our GDP–gross domestic product.

Here’s the bottom line.

You and your spouse, if you have one, earn or generate a certain amount of revenue each year.

That would be your family’s GDP.

If you’re like me and my wife, you have debt that you owe; credit cards, car loans, home mortgages etc…

When the amount of debt exceeds the amount of income in any one year, we get a bit nervous.

Hopefully we have a good relationship with our lenders and they don’t foreclose when they see we’ve had a bad stretch of financial statements.

With diligence and frugality, all of us some day would like to be debt free.

That’s when things really begin to look up, hopefully before we’re rolling around in wheelchairs or sleeping in a retirement home.

My message today is not political–though some may argue against that.

It’s educational, so that when you hear these terms spoken in the news or the pending debates, you’ll have a point of reference.

This next paragraph is taken from today’s Wikipedia page on the subject of U.S. debt vs. GDP.

It’s O.K. to come to a political conclusion after reading it, just don’t blame me for what it says…I’m trying to be extra nice today.

As of July 2012, debt held by the public was $11.12 trillion, while the intra-governmental debt was $4.81 trillion, to give a combined total public debt outstanding of $15.93 trillion, roughly 103% of current dollar GDP. The public debt has increased by over $500 billion each year since fiscal year (FY) 2003, with increases of $1 trillion in FY2008, $1.9 trillion in FY2009, $1.7 trillion in FY2010, and $1.2 trillion in FY2011. As of February 2012, $5.1 trillion or approximately 50% of the debt held by the public was owned by foreign investors, the largest of which were China and Japan at just over $1 trillion each. As of June 2012, nominal GDP of the United States was $15.59 trillion.

Todd Akins Must Go

August 22, 2012

One of the things that separates a Republican candidate who blows it, from a Democrat candidate who pulls a Joe Biden, is the integrity of the party.

In the world of a flawed Democrat, words like “Monica Lewinsky” and “Chappaquiddick” are rallying points, not islands of shame.

As for Todd Akins, the Republican Senatorial candidate who has no idea where babies come from…he should step down from the race.

A man his age, in the spotlight, with that little ability to answer the tough questions that every conservative knows are coming, cannot possibly survive an election without blowing it again and again.

We don’t need our own Biden sound bites.

Our party is far from perfect…but at least we don’t embrace candidates who take advantage of interns, or kill their secretaries.

If you wanted to say something that stupid Todd, you should have run as a Democrat.
